5 ply conveyor belt

384 specifications · EP and EE fabric · datasheet for each

A 5 ply conveyor belt has 5 layers of woven fabric in its carcass, bonded with skim rubber between the top and bottom covers. The rating is plies × the strength of each ply, so 5 plies build 800, 1000 and 1250 kN/m belts.

More plies make a thicker, stiffer carcass that takes impact and holds mechanical fasteners well, and needs larger pulleys: 5 ply belts suit heavy, long and high-tension conveyors in mines, power and steel plants.
